I’m a total softie when it comes to memories.
In fact it’s one of the main reasons I started making things in the first place, to find a way to hang on to all those little moments I would otherwise forget. Our apartment is littered with remnants of my attempts at hanging on — snippets of paper, scraps of fabric, photos printed on glossy paper and frames waiting to be filled.
I see it as charming.
My husband sees it as one step away from appearing on an episode of Hoarders.
While I’ll be the first to admit that our one-bedroom apartment can feel a little cozy with me, hubs, and all my stuff living in it, I think a little organization is all I need. Just a place to collect those little snippets that pile up during that year, but that I’m not ready to let go of yet.
So with just a wooden box, some craft paint, a photo, and a Sharpie, I was able to DIY this cute little memory box in 30 minutes flat.
Consider the clutter tamed.
- Paint your craft box and set aside for 30 minutes to dry.
- Once the paint is completely dry, take your photo and place an adhesive photo corner over each corner of the photo. Then center the photo over the top of the box and, making sure the edges are straight, press the corners onto the box.
- Use a sharpie to write the date on the front of the box.
- Fill with ticket stubs, pictures, maps, and anything else you want to remind you of 2015.
