Say hello to my new favorite thing.
An affogato is an Italian dessert much like an ice cream float only with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with a shot of hot espresso instead of root beer. While espresso is the typical brew of choice in this dessert, I didn’t have any on hand so in I replaced it with the next best thing - Earl Grey tea.
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking - that sounds terrible. But trust me on this. It’s incredible and so so easy.

Earl Grey Affogato Recipe
1 scoop vanilla ice cream (I like So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream)
1/4 c strong Earl Grey Tea - use 4 tea bags for 1 cup water
- Bring 1 cup water to boil and pour over 4 tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes.
- Scoop ice cream into a bowl. Pour hot tea over ice cream and serve immediately.
